It all began with one goat at the back door.
On May 3rd, 2018, a baby goat walked up to my just-renovated island cottage and stole my heart. He stayed. He taught me about unconditional love and helped me heal from things I didn’t even know I needed to address.
A decade ago, if you’d told me this would be my life, I would have snort-laughed and backed slowly away. Now there are stone walls, winding paths and not-so-tiny goat houses. The island calls it Goat World. I call it The JOYful Farmette. Pixar calls it nothing yet, but Snow White and I remain hopeful.
I’ve been a ghost(writer) for three decades. Now I write about this place. The gates are open. Walk through and experience the magic that is A Girl & Her Goat.

No. A Girl & Her Goat is a digital monthly keepsake, sent straight to your inbox.
Can I give A Girl & Her Goat as a gift?
Yes! And your friend or loved one will LOVE it. Head to the gift checkout, a one-time purchase of 12 keepsakes for $111. Right after checkout, you’ll tell me who it’s for, add your message and pick a start date, any day up to a year ahead, so you can get all your gift giving done in one go.
You’ll get an email when your gift goes out on the date you chose. It’s a good idea to check that your recipient received their gift email and first keepsake, since emails sometimes land in spam.
I want to gift this to more than one person. Is there an easy way?
Yes! Use the multiple-gift checkout to give up to 50 gifts at once, $111 each. Right after checkout, you’ll fill in a short form with each person’s name, email, start date and your message, or upload a spreadsheet if that’s easier.
Will you remind me before I’m charged?
Absolutely. Monthly members get a reminder five days before each billing date. Yearly members get several over the two weeks before renewal. A charge should never feel like a surprise.
Is my subscription tax-deductible?
Not at the moment. The JOYful Farmette isn’t a nonprofit yet. Because I’m on a Dutch Caribbean island, I’d first need to set up a foundation there, and a sister 501(c)(3) in the USA could follow. In the meantime, a CPA can tell you about gifting under the Annual Exclusion or Lifetime Exemption.
